My Top 5 Favorite Tools to Help Pay Off Debt!

So there are so many resources and products out there! But as a busy, homeschooling mom of four, who runs a business, blog, restaurant owner with my husband, I need simple, quick, and practical tools in my debt free journey! To be honest, I did not think we would be in this debt-free journey again. We had paid off $40,000 worth of debt years ago, but somehow got right back into debt (well I did). And I’ll share that in another post! So over the last 5 years, I have learned some tools and tricks that have helped me along the way! Last year, we buckled down, got honest, and paid off 9 out of 12 credit cards! Wooohoo! And you can too! How do you attack debt? Bit by bit! Slow and steady wins the race!

My Top 5 Favorite Tools!

Here are my 5 top favorite tools to help pay off debt:

  1. Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University! I remember walking into Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University lifegroup at our local church and being so overwhelmed. I was a shopaholic, but after taking this class, IT CHANGED OUR LIFE! With the Every Dollar membership (sharing below) you get this this $100 plus class for free! Click here for info!

  2. Dave Ramsey’s Every Dollar app/website (I’m using it again this month), and budgeting resources! After taking Financial Peace University, we used a ton of pen to paper budgeting! I still use pen to paper, but I have been enjoying the Every Dollar app/website to budget and track expenses. It’s super user friendly, and it links straight to your bank account! I used the 15 day free trial, then cancelled it before the trial ended. We use the $9.99/month option! Click here for info!

  3. The Budget Mom (website and Instagram): Somehow I found the Budget Mom on Instagram, and guys, it was life changing. She is a single mom, who built a multi-million dollar company helping women after paying off $77k in debt. She has so many amazing and free resources, so make sure you check her out and subscribe to her weekly newsletter! She sends out weekly newsletters EVERY SINGLE FRIDAY (and they are so useful)! Click here for her info!

  4. The Debt Crushing Mama Workbook: after going back into debt (12 credit back into debt), I created these tools and resources, printables to help me pay off debt! So in 2019, we paid off 9 credit cards using these budgeting tools! In this workbook, you have a calendar to add all of your bills and expenses, debt repayment tracker, monthly budget categories tracker, monthly spending tracker, monthly goals worksheets, debt crushing target worksheets, and so much more! Grab it HERE!

  5. Debt Free Charts: One of my friends paid off her mortgage, TWICE! And she said ,”Shelly, you need visuals! You need something that you can see every day to remind you of your goals!” So I looked it up, and I found these Debt Free Charts on Pinterest! And it has been a game changer! Some people use jars as reminders; other people use charts or incentives! Find a visual representation of your goals to keep you motivated during your debt free journey! Click here for more info!
