As I'm driving the boys to school 30 minutes away, I notice the gas light (I was driving a different car the day before)! It gets better, my purse, wallet, everything was tucked nice and safely back at home! No gas! No purse! Running late. What in the world was I to do!? I call my husband who is at our restaurant, no answer. I call a friend who lives closeby, no answer. By this time, my boys are freaking out and worried that we are gonna be stranded which they have never experienced. So, I try to remain calm, and say, "God always protects us and is for us!" I want them to understand the power of prayer and trusting God in the big and small things! They prayed and trusted God to heal my dad who almost died! (which prompted me to finish and publish my new devotion “Daddy’s Little Girl: unleashing and embracing God’s undeniable love for us)! I want my kids to see God's power and faithfulness in big and small moments! Healing and something as simple as sending help for gas woes! So I finally got one of my friends who happened to be closeby! It really does take a village! She comes with money and hugs and a smiley, nonjudgmental face! She comes looking all put together and gorgeous, while I'm struggling just to make sure everyone has lunches and shoes on! 😉 She comes with a radiance and peace of God that says "I am here for you! I am with you! You are never alone! And you're doing a good job!" In that moment, I didn't care that we were gonna be a few minutes late to school! I didn't care that I didn't look "put together" this morning! I didn't care that I didn't get it all right (mom guilt is real! But let's release it! It's not from God!) The enemy would love to lie and say you're an awful mom, awful worker, awful wife or this or that! He's a liar and a thief! So release those judgments today! You are amazing and capable and God's beloved!
Psalm 37: 15 says, “For in You, O Lord, I hope; You will hear, O Lord my God.”
In that moment, seeing my friend was all I needed! We were safe! We were good! And once again, God revealed His goodness and faithfulness to us! His mercies are new every morning! Great is His faithfulness!
God never misses a moment! Every single detail is important to Him! Can you see the goodness and faithfulness of God in this season of life?
Until next time friends,
Shelly
